Jenny Randerson - Time for WAG to reconsider how we fund our school buildings4.17.00pm BST (GMT +0100) Wed 14th Jul 2010 Commenting on the release of the report by the Wales Audit Office strongly criticising the lack of planning and control over capital investment in new school buildings, Welsh Lib Dem Shadow Education Minister, Jenny Randerson AM said: "The report is highly critical of the chaos over investment in new school buildings in previous years presided over by the Government. While I welcome the fact that improvements are now being made, this report shows just how badly our children have been let down over a prolonged period of time. The report's criticism of the way in which the Government's handling of information made effective planning very difficult is nothing short of damning. "Today in Plenary, I challenged the Finance Minister to reconsider her previous opinion on the use of private finance to build new schools. The report shows that those Local Authorities who were able to bring in private money, were able to make improvements far more rapidly."
