Jenny Randerson - Minister correct on new approach to bad weather school closures9.19.00pm BST (GMT +0100) Tue 13th Jul 2010 Commenting on the announcement by Education Minister, Leighton Andrews of a new approach to dealing with school closures in bad weather, Welsh Lib Dem Shadow Education Minister, Jenny Randerson AM said: "I wholeheartedly welcome the measures announced by the Minister. While "snow days" are a memorable part of everyone's childhood, in severe winters like last year, there is clearly a serious negative effect on education provision. "I am particularly pleased that the Minister will be consulting with the Unions on whether teachers could attend their nearest school and moves to use additional INSET days to recover lost ground."
