Local Lib Dems have welcomed the re-opening of the Household Waste Recycling Centre on Wedal Road.

Local Liberal Democrat councillors have welcomed the re-opening of the Household Waste Recycling Centre on Wedal Road.

The site had been closed for longer than expected while work was carried out to construct a new fence along the boundary with Nant-y-Wedal to protect residents from noise. However, work has now been completed and the site is once again open to the public.

Cathays councillor, Simon Pickard, said: "This is very welcome news, as it obviously caused disruption for the site to be closed for so long. The heavy snowfall in January severely delayed works, but I am pleased the site is open again."

Lib Dem councillor for Gabalfa, Ed Bridges, added: "Hopefully the new fence will act as a noise barrier for the Nant-y-Wedal residents and this important local facility can continue to serve the large number of residents in Cathays, Heath and Gabalfa who have come to rely on it."
