Cllr. Ed Bridges has discovered that work is due to restart on the former Youth Cymru site on Sachville Avenue within the next few months.

Gabalfa's Liberal Democrat Focus Team has discovered that building work will restart within the next few months on the former Youth Cymru site on Sachville Avenue.

Planning permission was granted last year to redevelop the site into flats - but work stopped earlier this year and the flats have been left half-built for several weeks. Several local residents contacted the Lib Dems to ask what was happening with the site.

Cllr. Ed Bridges said: "I have now heard back from the developer, who has said that the development scheme is currently being refinanced. I gather that this is expected to completed in the next four weeks or so, and work should restart after that."

Councillor Cathy Pearcy added: "This is obviously a relief. Whilst many of us were unhappy with the scheme that was approved for the site, having a half-built development clearly helps no-one, and it's in everyone's interests for work to be completed."
