The Gabalfa Lib Dem Focus Team are encouraging residents to have their say over plans to redevelop the Northlands site on North Road.

Residents in Gabalfa ward may have already heard about the plans to convert the Salvation Army hostel at Northlands on North Road.

Under the plans, a new purpose-built hostel would be constructed at the North Road end of the site. At the eastern end of the site, 27 new social housing units are proposed, and these would be accessed via Heathfield Road and Pen-y-Bryn Place (with access from Heathfield Road restricted to residents of the new development, to prevent 'rat-running').

The local Lib Dem Focus Team want to ensure that local residents have the opportunity to see the plans and have their say on the proposals.

Cllr. Ed Bridges told us: "The full details of the application can be seen at City Hall, and I would encourage residents to go and have a look and send in their comments - and to let me know their thoughts as well so I can represent residents on the issue."

Should YOU have any comments which you would like the Council's Planning Committee to consider when they decide whether or not to grant permission, please put them in writing and address them to the Chief Regulatory Services Officer, City Hall, Cardiff, CF10 3ND or e-mail them to developmentcontrol@cardiff.gov.uk, quoting the application number (#07/2583/W).
