Welsh Liberal Democrats in Gabalfa ward have welcomed the start of work on the construction of a cycle path between the Gabalfa Interchange and the Taf Trail at Llys Talybont.

The existing pavement is being widened where possible and split between pedestrians and cyclists to offer a safe space for each. It will also mean fewer cyclists on North Road itself, making a key route into Cardiff quicker and safer for motorists.

Local councillor and Lib Dem Assembly candidate, Ed Bridges, said: "This cycle route will make life much easier and safer - not just for cyclists like me, but for motorists as well. It shows that Cardiff's Lib Dem council is trying to offer greener transport solutions for our city."
