Lib Dem Councillors from Gabalfa and Cathays worked together to win funding for our play area.

Local Councillors have welcomed the major regeneration of the old tennis courts near the Maindy Centre.

The Lib Dem Focus Team was key in securing £25,000 funding from Cardiff Council to repair and redevelop the site. The site now includes a Multi Use Games Area (MUGA) with two 5-a-side football pitches and a separate area with basketball hoops.
Cathays Councillor Simon Pickard said: "It's great to see this games area is now proving so popular with people from across the neighbourhood. We made sure that the Council worked closely with pupils at Cathays High to design the new facilities."
Lib Dem Councillor and Cathays High Governor Simon Wakefield added: "This area had run into disrepair and suffered problems with flooding and graffiti. The drainage problems have now been solved and the Council is talking to Cathays High about their pupils painting some of the walls to reduce graffiti in the future."
