Campaign for Rural Wales joins call to clear road clutter : Randerson Comments

Jenny Randerson, Liberal Democrat transport spokeswoman, said she was convinced that the Assembly Government should take action.

She said: "There is increasing evidence that a minimalist approach to road design that is more sympathetic to the surrounding environment, whether rural or urban, can improve road safety.

"Sadly, Wales is now lagging behind some council areas in England and countries like Holland and Germany.

"The Labour-Plaid Government needs to put in place a strategy to work with Welsh local authorities and the UK Government to remove clutter where possible and review the guidelines that are the cause of much of this extraneous signage and paint."
