Local Liberal Democrats have been campaigning for repairs to the 'wobbly bridge' over Bute Park near Blackweir.

The bridge, linking the Taff Trail with Pontcanna Fields, is owned and maintained by Cardiff University - but for many years has needed repairs to make it more stable.

Lib Dem councillors for Cathays, Simon Pickard, raised the issue at a recent Council meeting. He demanded that council officials ask the university to carry out work to make the bridge more sturdy.

Cllr. Pickard said: "This bridge is very well-used, and it is important that it is properly maintained."

Gabalfa councillor, Ed Bridges, added: "As always, the Lib Dems will keep local residents up-to-date with any news on this issue."
