John Dixon and Cllr. Cathy Pearcy have welcomed news that Cardiff's Lib Dem Council will be consulting residents in Gabalfa ward about extending the provision of wheelie bins.
Cardiff Council will soon be consulting residents in Gabalfa ward about introducing wheelie bins for streets which do not have them currently.
Many residents have asked for wheelie bins to help reduce problems caused by seagulls splitting open rubbish bags. The Council has responded by agreeing to consult residents on streets which do not have bins currently but which have space to accommodate them. The streets which could be included are:
Local campaigner, John Dixon, said: "The Council will be consulting on the idea in the summer. Where there is public support for wheelie bins, they will be introduced. But there is no intention to impose wheelie bins on roads like Talygarn Street where properties have no front porches to store the bins!"
