Cllr. Ed Bridges and Cllr. Cathy Pearcy want residents in Gabalfa ward to be aware of this year's "Get It Out For Cardiff" campaign offering extra waste collections for our area in June.
The hugely successful 'Get It Out' campaign will return again to parts of Gabalfa ward in June. Additional collections of waste will take place across two long weekends.
The dates coincide with the end of the student academic year, when most students move out of their private rented accommodation - but all residents, not just students, can take advantage of the extra waste collections.
Last year over 200 tonnes of waste were collected, half of which was either recycled or donated to charity.
The dates of the 2009 'Get it Out for Cardiff' campaign will be:
• Friday 12th June - Sunday 14th June
• Friday 26th June - Monday 29th June 2009
Household and recyclables should be put out on the pavement by 10am on the day of the collection. The normal weekly waste collections on Tuesdays will continue as usual.
All the streets off Whitchurch Road (including the streets around Clodien Avenue, Maitland Street and Africa Gardens & 'The Colonies') will be included in the scheme. If you require further information, you can ring Connect-2-Cardiff on (029) 2087 2087.
