The Gabalfa Lib Dem Focus Team wants to alert residents to the appeal over planning permission for the Northlands site on North Road.
The Gabalfa Lib Dem Focus Team has been provided with details of the Salvation Army's appeal against the refusal of planning permission to develop the site at Northlands.
Planning permission to develop the hostel on North Road and build social housing at the rear of the site was REFUSED by Cardiff Council's Planning Committee last month after Cllr. Ed Bridges and local residents raised concern over access to the development.
However, the Lib Dems have now found out that an appeal has been lodged with the Welsh Assembly which could see that decision overturned.
All the submissions made by residents for the original application (letters, petitions etc) will be given to the Assembly's Planning Inspector for consideration. However, any residents wishing to make additional representations can write to the Welsh Assembly Planning Inspectorate, Crown Buildings, Cathays Park, Cardiff CF10 3NQ, quoting reference number Z6815/A/08/2079301/WF.
Cllr. Ed Bridges said: "I will do all I can to represent residents on this appeal and to ensure that the Planning Inspectorate are aware of the concerns which were raised. If I can help any residents wishing to make further comments, then people are very welcome to contact me. Ultimately, the decision now rests with the Welsh Assembly rather than the council, but I will do my best to make sure that the concerns we raised over access are made clear to the Inspectorate."
For further information, contact Cllr. Ed Bridges.
