Addressing anti-social behaviour: Jacqui Hooper and Cllr. Ann Rowland-James are backing Lib Dem plans to tackle graffiti in our area.
Liberal Democrats on Cardiff Council have proposed a major investment in measures to tackle crime and anti-social behaviour.
In their draft budget for 2008/9, the Liberal Democrats have prioritised crime and anti-social behaviour, with investment in the 101 service, a graffiti busting squad and other proposals outlined above.
Llandaff North's Liberal Democrat councillor, Ann Rowland-James has welcomed this investment.
Ann told us: "Labour like to talk tough on crime but it is only the Liberal Democrats that are prepared to put the money in to deal with the issues. I am pleased to see money being found to keep 101, following Labour pulling the plug on its funding."
Mynachdy resident, Jacqui Hooper, added: "Graffiti and fly posting really bring an area down. It's good to see the Lib Dem council taking the initiative in cracking down on such anti-social behaviour."
Residents might also be interested in a new online policing initiative which can be found at www.ourbobby.com - or you can get involved with Neighbourhood Watch by ringing (029) 2052 7031.
Lib Dem budget proposals:
• support to keep the 101 service, following the Labour Government's withdrawal of funding
• a new 24 hour / 7 day a week noise nuisance action team
• a specialist team to tackle fly-posting
• a graffiti-busting squad
• more staff to deal with anti-social behaviour in our parks
