Cardiff Liberal Democrats save you money!

Compared to Labour's record, the Lib Dems have saved Band D Council Tax payers £242 by keeping rises down. Labour increased Council Tax by an average 11% each year - compared to an average of just 2.9% under the Lib Dems.
The Cardiff North Liberal Democrat Focus Team is highlighting that Cardiff's Lib Dem council has kept Council Tax down. The average increase since they took control has been just 2.9% - the lowest in the whole of Wales.
Cardiff North's Lib Dem Westminster spokesman, John Dixon, said: "I am delighted that the Liberal Democrats have kept council tax down. We have worked hard to cut out waste to keep your bill as small as possible."
When Labour were in charge of the council, they increased council tax by an average of 11%. If this rise had continued, Band D council tax would be a staggering £242 higher than it is now!
Gabalfa councillor, Ed Bridges, told us: "The Lib Dems believe in providing real value for money. We've invested in key services - there are now free recycling collections for every house in the city, more Police Community Support Officers on the street and more community street cleaners - and we've done it all while still keeping council tax rises to a minimum."
Lib Dem councillor for Heath & Birchgrove, Michelle Michaelis, added: "We believe that the Council Tax is completely unfair. We are campaigning to scrap it and replace it with a local income tax. But whilst the Council Tax is here, the Liberal Democrats in Cardiff will continue to keep your bill as low as possible."
